Please complete all information fully. Failure to provide sufficient information can delay the processing of the reported crime and future investigation.
After submitting your report, you will receive a confirmation number. This IS NOT your police report number. You will be notified of the police report number, associated with your Police Report, via e-mail or phone. Our goal is to respond to all reports within 72 hours, however, due to report volumes, responses in some cases may take longer. The police report number is a series of 14 numbers beginning with the year (ex. 2003).
If you have completed and submitted a report, DO NOT submit a second report about the same incident. If you haven’t received a notification regarding your online report within 72 hours, please call 311.
The online reporting system DOES NOT allow you to make additions to already completed reports. You will need to call 311 to make additions to your report.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Making false reports to law enforcement agencies or officers is a crime. Knowingly submitting a false police report is a misdemeanor under NC State law, NCGS 14-225.
